Among the Caribbean’s most respected and influential tourism and hospitality leaders, Nicola Madden-Greig, OD, brings more than 25 years of experience driving innovation, championing sustainable development, and strengthening the region’s tourism industry.
Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Mrs. Madden-Greig currently serves as Group Director of Marketing & Sales for The Courtleigh Hospitality Group (CHG), one of Jamaica’s leading hotel management companies. CHG’s properties include The Courtleigh Hotel & Suites, The Courtleigh Corporate Centre, and The Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.
Her service to Jamaica’s tourism industry extends well beyond her role at CHG. She is a member of Jamaica’s Tourism Linkages Network and Chair of the Jamaica Gastronomy Tourism Network, which promotes gastronomy tourism as a means of diversifying and strengthening Jamaica’s tourism product. Among the network’s notable initiatives are the Jamaica Blue Mountain Culinary Trail and the Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee Festival.
Mrs. Madden-Greig is also founder and co-chair of the Kingston City Run, a charity race featuring the Half Marathon, 10K and 5K. She serves on several prominent boards, including the Jamaica Tourist Board, Montego Bay Convention Centre, Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, and Convent of Mercy Academy (Alpha). She is also a two-time former President of the Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association (JHTA).
Her influence extends throughout the Caribbean through her longstanding leadership with the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA). As CHTA President from 2021–2024, she guided the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic while helping position the region’s tourism industry for resilient, sustainable growth. During her tenure, she introduced initiatives including the CHTA Travel Forum, Technology Taskforce, CHTA Sustainable Tourism Day, and Destination Resilience Awards. She now serves as Chair of CHTA’s Caribbean Tourism Linkages Network.
A graduate of Convent of Mercy Academy (Alpha), Mrs. Madden-Greig earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management (Honours) from Florida International University, where she was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honour Society. She later earned an Executive Master’s in Business Administration (Distinction) from The University of the West Indies, Mona School of Business.
In recognition of her distinguished contribution to Jamaica’s tourism industry and the promotion of the Jamaica brand internationally, Mrs. Madden-Greig was awarded the Order of Distinction (Officer) in 2021. Her other honours include the 2023 CMEX Award for Excellence in Caribbean Tourism and the JHTA President’s Award, which she has received twice, in 2006 and 2019.
