Prof. Srinivasa Rao Mentreddy is a Professor of Crop Science at Alabama A&M University, USA, with extensive expertise in sustainable agriculture and organic crop management. An Indian-born American, he earned his B.S. and M.S. in Agriculture from Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University, India, and a Ph.D. in Agronomy from the University of Tasmania, Australia. His research focuses on cover crop-based sustainable practices for vegetable and medicinal herb production, both in open-field and agroforestry systems. Dr. Mentreddy also explores low-temperature plasma technology for seed and meat sanitization, aiming to improve seed germination, plant growth, and crop yield. In addition to his research, he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in agricultural science, mentoring students in sustainable and innovative farming practices.

Formerly Senior Professor/ principal scientist and university head of entomology at ANGRAU AND PJTSAU . Had Doctoral degree in 1983 with specialization in Pesticide Residues, Insect Toxicology and worked for more than 33 years indifferent capacities as Professor/ Researcher and Extension scientist.

Specialisation: food safety and food security issues, pesticide residues, insect toxicology and IPM. He is involved in farmer empowerment and entrepreneurship development initiatives in agri-ecosystem.

Worked in collaboration with CIMMYT, Mexico on breeding for Insect Resistance and on innovative technologies in sugarcane, Potato, Ginger and Turmeric.
