About Us 

The Food Hygiene Bureau Ltd (FHB) is a private sector organization specializing in food safety training, education and consultancy in the Caribbean. We are sole distributors for a wide range of safety and testing equipments and products for the food and hospitality sector.

Since 1999 we have been serving the food and hospitality industries throughout the region in areas of training, conferences, symposiums and consultancy.  FHB is a registered training centre for the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) the Royal Society of Public Health and Hygiene  (RSPHH) in the UK and the National Environment Health Associates (NEHA) in the USA.
 
Our team of highly qualified experts ranging from Environmental Health Practitioners, Pest Management Consultants, Food Technologists, Engineers and Architects.  FHB have provided technical expertise and internationally recognized food safety, health and safety and HACCP certification to both private and public sector organizations.
 

 
To date, FHB has awarded over 4000 international certificates to various levels of personnel across industries including tourism, processors,caterers and manufacturers. FHB focuses particular attention on providing technical solutions to assist in design and implementation of Food Safety Management Systems and setting up HACCP teams within industry to ensure a truly proactive system. which is necessary for firms entering the Export Market.  
 
 

 

Management
 
The FHB is headed by Marva Hewitt, UK trained Environmental Health Practitioner, who brings a wealth of experience in the field of food safety, having worked extensively with both private and public sector companies internationally and across the region as Senior Consultant.
 
A graduate of Greenwich University where she obtained a BSc. Environmental Health and an Msc. Food Safety, Quality and Control from South Bank University, she has earned the respect of her regional and international peers for her knowledge and skills in the field. Through her passion and commitment to achieving higher standards of food safety within industries, she has continued to realise the mission and vision of the Bureau to become the leading organisation that delivers on quality education to the sectors. 
 
Her academic achievements, which also include an International Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health and Development (Sweden) are balanced with her practical expertise obtained during her eight-year tenure at Jamaica's leading beer brewer, Desnoes and Geddes Ltd (now Red Stripe) where she was Occupational Health and Safety Manager and Industrial Hygienist.
 
She also lectures extensively throughout the region. Along with her team of technical experts and consultants, she has forged FHB into the leading organization of its kind in the region.
